The Radar Water Level and Rainfall Monitoring System is a high-precision surface water level measurement and rainfall monitoring system featuring water surface fluctuation filtering. It employs a horn antenna design to reduce power consumption and supports a wide input voltage range, specifically engineered for unattended field applications in automatic weather stations. Measurements remain unaffected by atmospheric temperature, pressure, air density, wind, precipitation, or relative humidity, ensuring exceptional stability. Low-power and maintenance-free design. The product offers flexible operating mode configurations.
The superiority of radar measurement principles makes them suitable for the following working environments: Water level monitoring in lakes, rivers, reservoirs, open channels, wetlands, and tidal areas; Water level monitoring in areas prone to frequent water quality changes; Channels containing large amounts of floating debris and sediment; Locations with abundant aquatic plant growth; Solar-powered operations in remote wilderness areas; Regions prone to frequent flash floods.
The working principle is as follows: Radar pulses are emitted from the antenna of the radar water level sensor. The antenna receives pulses reflected back from the water surface and records the time (T). Since the propagation speed (C) of electromagnetic waves is a constant, the distance (D) to the water surface is calculated. The time from emission to reception is proportional to the distance to the water surface. This converts nanosecond-level time measurements to millisecond-level measurements, thereby enhancing measurement accuracy. With 55 measurements per second followed by digital filtering, the impact of water waves on results is minimized, yielding measurements equivalent to those taken in still water.
