The laser methane telemeter consists of two components—a transmitter unit and a receiver unit—both of which are integrated into a single probe. The probe emits a laser beam toward a distant surface, with the laser path directed above potential leak points; the receiver then captures the reflected signal for calculation and processing. The telemetry instrument is designed based on the TDLAS principle, which relies on the fact that methane molecules absorb light at specific wavelengths. If a methane gas plume is present in the optical path, the emitted laser is partially absorbed, and the receiver detects a reduction in the light signal proportional to the number of gas molecules in the path.
The telemetry instrument provides sensitive, rapid, and stable responses to the target gas in hazardous gas environments. The advanced open-system design ensures ease of use, and the built-in narrowband filter effectively prevents sunlight from interfering with the signal.
The telemetry instrument features a built-in range-switching mechanism that automatically adjusts the range based on the intensity of the received light.
Fast Detection: Detection time is only 0.015 seconds.
Long-Range Detection: Detects methane and methane-containing gas leaks at distances up to 200 meters.
High Accuracy: Specific laser detection reacts only to methane gas and is not affected by environmental conditions.
High Safety Rating: Intrinsically safe explosion-proof design.
Easy to Use: Automatically detects upon startup; no periodic calibration required; virtually maintenance-free.
Features a built-in sensitivity adjustment mechanism, unaffected by the intensity of reflections from surfaces.
Touchscreen design for user-friendly operation with a simple interface.
The device features an integrated standard gas chamber that monitors the laser wavelength in real time to enable automatic calibration.
