Melt Flow Rate Tester

Melt Flow Rate Tester

  • Product Number:LD-RZ
  • Product Difference:Determination of Melt Flow Rate (MFR) Values for Various Plastics and Resins in the Viscous Flow State

Product Introduction

This melt flow rate tester is an upgraded model featuring numerous enhanced functions. It offers significant improvements in instrument configuration, service life, operational convenience, and testing accuracy, delivering unmatched advantages and cost-effectiveness compared to standard melt flow rate testers.

The MFR tester complies with the national standard GB/T3682-2000 “Determination of Melt Mass Flow Rate and Melt Volume Flow Rate of Thermoplastics,” which specifies the measurement of melt mass flow rate for thermoplastics. This standard is equivalent to ISO 1133:1997 and also meets the requirements of the ASTM D1238 test standard.

The instrument features a desktop design with rational structure, stable and reliable performance, attractive appearance, and user-friendly operation. It employs high-performance, high-precision control instruments characterized by high sampling accuracy and rapid rate control, utilizing fuzzy PID algorithms for constant temperature regulation.

The Melt Flow Rate Tester measures the Melt Flow Rate (MFR) value of various plastics and resins in their viscous flow state. It is suitable for engineering plastics with higher melting temperatures such as polycarbonate, polyarylsulfone, fluoroplastics, nylon, and other engineering plastics with high melting temperatures, as well as plastics with lower melting temperatures such as polyethylene (PE), polystyrene (PS), polypropylene (PP), ABS resin, polyoxymethylene (POM), and polycarbonate (PC) resin. It is widely used in plastic production, plastic products, petrochemical industries, as well as related universities, research institutions, and commodity inspection departments.

Product Features

  • The heating cylinder is constructed from Hastelloy to prevent oxidation and rusting during prolonged operation at high temperatures (up to 400°C).

  • Dual sensor configuration ensures precise temperature control, improved temperature gradient, and extended service life.

  • In accordance with national standards, a four-minute countdown function is added after material loading.

  • RS232 interface allows direct connection to a computer for data output (optional).

  • Stainless steel weights (optional).

  • Upon startup, the previous test conditions are displayed directly, eliminating the need for users to reconfigure parameters each time and reducing operator workload. Test parameters are easily calibrated and corrected.

  • Maximum temperature up to 400°C (optional, special specification required when ordering).

  • Capable of prolonged testing of highly corrosive plastics without compromising instrument accuracy, such as full-series fluoroplastics (special material requires specification at order placement). This technology is exclusively available from our company in China.

  • Rapid heating rate with minimal overshoot.

  • Rapidly restores constant temperature after filling, with high temperature stability.

  • Supports both manual and automatic material cutting test methods.

  • Features a Chinese LCD display and integrated printer for automatic test result output.
