Ultrasonic Hardness Tester

Ultrasonic Hardness Tester

  • Product Number:LD-YD500
  • Product Difference:Hardness Testing of Metallic Materials Including Steel, Cast Steel, Cast Aluminum Alloys, and Pure Copper

Product Introduction

This ultrasonic hardness tester represents an innovative design developed by our company based on in-depth research into ultrasonic hardness measurement principles.

Common materials include steel, cast steel, copper, and aluminum alloys. Three new “User Material” functions have been added, complemented by an operation wizard, enabling rapid testing of special or novel materials! This expands the application scope of ultrasonic hardness testers.

Applicable to the following fields:
1. Installed machinery or permanently assembled components
2. Mold cavities
3. Heavy-duty workpieces
4. Failure analysis of pressure vessels, steam turbine generator sets, and related equipment
5. Workpieces with extremely limited testing space
6. Bearings and other components
7. Applications requiring formal documentation of test results
8. Material identification in metal storage facilities
9. Rapid inspection of multiple measurement points across large workpieces

Test ForceTypical Application (Probe Dimensions: Diameter 22 mm, Length 142 mm)
98NForgings, welds and heat-affected zones
50NInduction-hardened layers and carburized layers in machine tool components, e.g., camshafts, turbines, welds, and heat-affected zones
20NFlanges, gears, stamped parts, molds, crankshafts, turbine rotors, etc.
10NIon nitrided layers on stamping dies, forgings
8NPrecision components, reducers, and bearing rotating rings
3NCoated (plated) layers, e.g., copper and chrome coatings on cylinders (t≥0.04mm), coatings on low-pressure cylinders, hardened layers (t≥0.02mm)
1NThin layers, polished surfaces

Product Features

  • Design complies with standard: GB/T 34205-2017 “Metallic Materials - Hardness Testing - Ultrasonic Contact Impedance Method”. Enables high-precision testing on various metallic materials.

  • Dual hardness scale display simultaneously shows Vickers hardness and corresponding values in selected alternative scales.

  • Dedicated circuit design supports hot-swappable probes for plug-and-play operation with automatic force recognition.

  • Includes three new material presets for specialized hardness testing, theoretically capable of measuring all metallic materials.

  • Features an IPS (In-Plane Switching) full-digital LCD display, significantly enhancing color reproduction and response speed.

  • Offers a wide viewing angle, ensuring minimal color and detail distortion even when viewed from the side.

  • Supports Chinese and English displays with user-friendly menu-based operation for simplicity and convenience.

  • Adjustable LCD brightness for use in low-light environments.

  • USB interface enables quick and convenient data exchange and parameter settings with a PC.

  • A single main unit supports various probe types with real-time automatic recognition. No recalibration required when switching probes.

  • Features software-based calibration for displayed readings.

  • Allows preset upper and lower hardness limits with automatic alarm activation upon exceeding range, facilitating batch testing requirements.

  • Metal housing ensures compact, portable, and highly reliable operation in harsh environments, with resistance to vibration, impact, and electromagnetic interference.

  • For hardness measurement of special materials, calibration and testing can be performed using user-provided materials.

  • The LCD displays a battery level indicator, showing remaining battery power in real time. It also features a charging progress indicator, allowing operators to monitor the charging status at any time.

  • Can store up to 600 sets of hardness measurement data. Each set includes measurement date, sensor type, material, number of measurements, single readings, average, maximum, minimum, and hardness scale.

  • Features a built-in 3.7V high-capacity rechargeable lithium-ion battery and USB charging control circuit. Provides continuous operation for no less than 20 hours with power-saving features like auto-sleep and auto-shutdown.
