
Principle of Doppler Flow Meters: When the ultrasonic source and the observer are moving relative to each other, the frequency received by the observer differs from that of the ultrasonic source. Consequently, small particles and air bubbles moving with the water relative to the ultrasonic transducer will also cause a change in the frequency received by the transducer, which increases as the velocity of the suspended particles in the water increases. By measuring this Doppler shift, the flow velocity of the water at the location of the Doppler flowmeter is determined.
It is primarily used in open irrigation channels, municipal sewer pipes, hydrological basins, and similar applications. It is particularly suitable for low-water-level conditions, as it can operate with water levels as low as 15 centimeters. In standard pipes and channels, the flow rate can be easily calculated by measuring water depth using the pressure sensor on the flow meter and flow velocity using the ultrasonic sensor.
The product measures flow velocity based on the ultrasonic Doppler effect and can measure water level via a pressure sensor and water temperature via a temperature sensor. The housing is made of PVC plastic, providing effective waterproof sealing. The housing measures 25 cm in length, 3 cm in height, and 7 cm in width.
